JINKS Updates

It all started on one January morning when the last Sunday of that fateful month was witness to a host of exhilarating contests in a quiet corner of Ranchi. The epicenter of this youth festival was the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology, Ranchi, whose students that day discovered something new within themselves.
That eventful Sunday led up to a two-day All India Youth Festival called JINKS which has deservedly been named the most popular youth festival of East Zone ever since. With sponsors getting in the act , JINKS has indeed become a mega-event since the heady days of '96.

In the Year 2000 edition of Jinks, JINKS MILLENNIUM, BEAT-BUSTERS of Calcutta, an associate of the Shiamak Davar choreography group, performed on the newly constructed open-air stage. The Rock group that time on was DURANG and ROARING SOULS. A sum of Rs. 2,50,000/- was involved in the whole festival. About 2,500 heads per day, of age group 18-25, cheered on the 400+ participants for three straight days.

The Informalz Arena undoubtably was the noisiest one with virtually a prize every minute. Gals and guys did all sorts of crazy things to win those prizes worth tens of thousands which were solely sponsored by Archies Gallery, Ranchi.

The Year 2001 version, JINKS-2001 was organized on 12th, 13th & 14th of February 2001. The entire budget for this edition of JINKS stood at Rs. 3,10,000/-. A cluster of events, numbering 31,  encompassed the three day festival, where in all 156 prizes were won. In the Informalz arena, scores of gifts, discount coupons and cash prizes were grabbed by the enthralled participants.

The celeb-performers were Agni of Kolkata who performed alfresco in the Cultural Evening. DJ Sunny rocked the crowd with his foot-tapping dance numbers. In addition, Roaring Souls conducted the Rock Show on the Valentines' Day.

In the Year 2002 edition of Jinks, JINKS, QUADRILS of kolkata, performed on the open-air stage, with a blazing 10,000 watts of music.
