JINKS is organized by the student bodies. NIFFT houses three
student bodies:
- NIFFT Students' Gymkhana
- Rotaract Club of Ranchi, NIFFT
- SPICMACAY, NIFFT Chapter
NIFFT Students' Gymkhana
NIFFT Students' Gymkhana is an autonomous student body responsible for
conducting all the co-curricular activities in the campus. Ably presided by Mr. K.
K. Verma, this body exhorts students to participate actively in all the
intra and inter college events, which are organized throughout the academic
year. The Gymkhana is the parent body of all the societies floated by students
including, Rotaract Club of Ranchi, NIFFT and SPICMACAY, NIFFT Chapter.

What is Rotaract?
Rotaract is an international program for young men and women ages 18 to 30
who believe they can make a difference. Rotaract clubs provide an opportunity
for young adults to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in
personal development, to to address the physical and social needs of their
communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through
a framework of friendship and service.
A
brief look at Rotaract
Rotaract was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, a worldwide association
of service minded business and professional leaders. Today there are over 6,000
Rotary-sponsored Rotaract clubs with more than 130,000 members in some 120
countries around the world. Clubs are either community- based or
university-based.
Rotaract in NIFFT
All the students of NIFFT are eligible to be the members of the Rotaract Club
of Ranchi, NIFFT. Although there isn't any compulsion to join the club, nearly
90% of the students at NIFFT are its members.
The club started way back in
1995, saw S. Vijay (1992-1996) as its first president. Since then there
has been looking back as the number of members keep on increasing year after
year. The Rotaract Club of Ranchi, NIFFT has carried out various Community
Service projects in an effort to improve the lives of the people around them.
The last year's projects were active participation in the Pulse- Polio Immunization
program and organization of Hepatitis-B Vaccination camp in and
around Ranchi. The club also undertakes Adult Education program, Blood
Donor ship program and Rural development schemes from time to time.
SPICMACAY,
NIFFT Chapter
SPICMACAY or the Society for the Promotion of Indian
Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth
is a voluntary, non-profit & non-governmental and student participatory,
dedicated to the spread of Indian culture in schools and colleges throughout
India. SPICMACAY was formed in 1977 out of a conviction that an
appreciation of the richness, variety and aesthetics of culture is a cornerstone
of education.
